Notifications for emergency health response
Notifications for emergency health response
According to Article 45 of the CLP Regulation the member states shall appoint bodies responsible for receiving information necessary to provide appropriate emergency health response. In Germany this is done by the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR).
According to § 16e of the German Chemicals Act (ChemG) it is necessary to notify information on composition, use and risk management measures before hazardous mixtures are placed on the market. The BfR will forward this information to poison information and treatment centres in order to support emergency health response.
Unfortunately in past notification procedures according to Article 45 of CLP Regulation were done differently in European Member States, also information requirements were quite different. With implementation of Regulation (EC) No 2017/542 the information requirements will be added to Annex VIII of CLP Regulation which ensures an European harmonization of information requirements.
The notification is linked to a unique product identifier (UFI), which allows unambiguous identification of the formulation, the UFI needs to be printed on the label of a hazardous mixture.
Of course we are prepared to help you to fulfil your notifications in all European Member States
